Cambridgeshire Fire Service Visit Sycamore Bodyshop, Peterborough for Electric vehicle training

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Cambridgeshire Fire Service to the Sycamore Bodyshop, Peterborough, to assist them in learning some of the vital details regarding fully-electric vehicles and how to deal with them safely and effectively in the event of a fire or crash. 

Our Senior Technician and Level 3 BMW Hybrid Qualified Technician Neil, gave the team an in-depth talk around The BMW i4 M50, showing the fire crew the fundamentals of the car, locations of important cables, and how to safely decommission the vehicle in the event of a fire or RTC. Neil who is also a qualified High Voltage Technician for Volkswagen Group showed the guys around a Seat Leon Hybrid vehicle.  

With the skill and knowledge of our fire services being a key role in saving lives, and EV’s leading the future of motoring, it was a pleasure to help them learn more about these vehicles, and potentially help them save more lives – as well as safeguarding their own.
